My birthday!

It was hard to be away from family this year for my birthday, but Kyle did a fabulous job making me feel like a princess (as he always does).

On the night of my birthday, Kyle took me to the local Wang Chinese Restaurant. The food was beautiful and delicious!

A couple of days later, he took me to Newport, Rhode Island. We took a tour of The Breaker's, built by the Vanderbilt family during the Gilded Age. We loved the tour and took hours exploring the home and grounds. We also discovered Cliff Walk which took us along the rocky ocean shore.

The Breakers
The interior was beautifully decorated for the holidays.
Ready for our audio tour!

The Cliff Walk stretches along the island.

On our way home, Kyle stopped at Le Petit Gourmet to pick up some fancy cheese for the French Onion Soup he made from scratch for my (second!) birthday dinner. It was fabulous!
Kyle made me feel so loved on my birthday, but let's face it...he does that every day.

D.C. and N.C. for Thanksgiving!

Kyle and I traveled to North Carolina for Thanksgiving this year. We planned our trip so that we could spend a night with Tiff and John in D.C. After all, we couldn't pass up a chance to see Violet! ;)
Violet graciously let me paint her toenails.
There are few things better than running with my Tiffy.
So handsome.
There just might not be anything cuter.
Kyle and I met up with my friend Liz Oliphant during our stay. We had Ben & Jerry's in the basement of the Old Post Office and then took a quick tour of the Old Post Office Tower. We didn't realize that we were in for such a treat! Apparently, this building is one of the tallest in the city and therefore provides a fantastic view.

Next stop: North Carolina! This year, we not only had the pleasure of seeing Mom, Dad, and Matt who flew out from Utah, we also got to meet the newest member of the extended Stevenson family: Eleonore Anne. Ellie was born on September 30 and she is simply adorable.
Any meal at the Rees' is always exquisite and this year's Thanksgiving dinner was no exception.

Thanksgiving is hardly Thanksgiving without some football...
...and a nap!
Wrong holiday, Ghost Rowan!

Rowan's birthday was on Thanksgiving this year, so evening festivities moved from pie to cake! My Dad's and my birthday were within the week as well, so we decided to celebrate them all at once.

Rowan got Ticket to Ride for his birthday.
